Rare et intéressante lettre de Lewis Carroll, signée de son véritable nom, "C. L. Dodgson", au fondateur de Vanity Fair. Il lui adresse un texte et lui demande de ne faire aucune allusion à Lewis Carroll. "I hope you may think the enclosed worth noticing - not for the sake of the sale of it (it is sure to be a loss) but because of the importance of the subject, at this most critical time. If you do it, please make no allusion to "Lewis Carroll"! [...]". Les deux signatures de Lewis Carroll apparaissent dans cette lettre.
